# Plans and pricing

> How Fig's free plan and Fig Premium work, and how credits are used.

You can start using Fig and create projects for **free**. **Fig Premium** unlocks
more — including connecting your own custom web address and other premium features.
You can explore plans anytime inside the app.

## Free vs. Fig Premium

## How credits work

Fig runs on a **credit** system. Each task uses some credits depending on how much
work it takes — a quick answer uses very little, while a large build uses more, and
generating media like images and video carries its own cost per item.

You can see your current balance at the top of the app, along with a breakdown of
what each conversation has used — so there are never surprises.

  Choosing a lighter [thinking mode](/features/thinking-modes) for simple tasks is a
  great way to make your credits go further.

You can upgrade, change, or review your plan at any time from your account settings
