# Chatting with Fig

How to ask Fig for what you want — and get great results.

The main way you work with Fig is by **chatting** with it, like messaging a helpful
teammate. You describe what you want, and Fig takes it from there.

## Starting a chat

Tap **New chat** (or **Ask Fig**), type your request in plain language, and send it.
You can ask Fig to create something, change something it already made, or simply
help you think through an idea.

A few examples to get you going:

* "Build a website for my photography business."
* "Write three caption ideas for an Instagram post about our new product."
* "Turn these notes into a clean one-page document."

You can also **attach files and photos** to your message — share a menu, a logo,
or notes, and Fig will use them in its work.

  The clearer you are, the better the result. Mention details that matter to you —
  your business name, the style you like, who it's for, or anything that should be
  included.

## Getting better results

* **Be specific.** "A modern website for a yoga studio, calming colors, with a
  booking section" beats "make me a website."
* **Build step by step.** You can refine as you go — ask for a first version, then
  tell Fig what to adjust.
* **Give examples.** Mention a style, tone, or look you like, and Fig will aim for it.
* **Ask follow-ups.** Fig remembers the conversation, so you can keep improving
  without starting over.

## Picking up where you left off

Every conversation is saved. Open the menu to find past chats, mark your favorites,
and jump back into any project — on your phone or in your browser. You can also
[schedule a task](/features/scheduled-tasks) so Fig works on something for you at a
set time.

# Expert packages

Add expert packages that give Fig new specialties.

**Expert packages** are add-ons you can install to give Fig new specialties. Think
of them as extra training for your AI — add one, and Fig gains the know-how for a
specific kind of work.

## Browsing and installing

Open the **Expert Packages** section to browse what's available. Each one describes
what it does and what it's best for. Installing takes one tap, and you can remove an
expert package just as easily.

## Using an expert package

Once installed, an expert package's skills become part of how Fig works — Fig uses
them automatically when they fit the task. On mobile, you can also call an installed
skill directly in chat by typing **/** followed by its name.

  Some expert packages work with your [connected apps](/integrations/overview) — for
  example, one that organizes customer information may ask you to connect the
  relevant app first. Fig will show you exactly what's needed.

  Check the Expert Packages library every so often — new ones are added over time.

# Image editor

Polish any image with filters, adjustments, text, and AI tools — right inside Fig.

Fig doesn't just generate images — it includes a full **image editor**, so you can
take any image (one Fig made, or one you uploaded) and make it perfect.

  with one tap.
* **Magic layers** — split an image into its subject and background automatically,
  or break each block of text into its own layer, so you can move and restyle
  pieces independently.
* **Layers** — stack images and text and arrange them however you like.
* **Undo / redo** — experiment freely; every step can be undone, and your edits
  save in place.

## Exporting your image

When you're done, export in the size you need — the editor includes ready-made
presets for common uses (like Instagram posts, YouTube thumbnails, and
high-resolution 4K), so you don't have to remember dimensions.

## Drafts and versions

Your edits are saved as **drafts** as you go, and you can keep **named versions**
of an image to come back to.

## Tell Fig about you

Tap **Personalize Fig** from the home screen to share details about yourself and
your business — what you do, who your customers are, the style you like. Fig keeps
these in mind across everything it builds, so you don't have to repeat yourself.

## Fig remembers

You can also just tell Fig things to remember, right in conversation:

* "Remember that my business is called Sunrise Bakery."
* "Remember I prefer a friendly, casual tone."

Fig keeps these facts in mind in **every future conversation** — and you can ask
it to update or forget anything at any time. You can also review and manage
everything Fig remembers in the **Memory** screen.

  remove what Fig has saved — or just tell it "forget that" in chat.

## Set up specialized helpers

For more advanced setups, you can create your own [Super Agents](/features/super-agents)

Fig doesn't just make things — it can **go find out** for you. Ask it to research
a topic and it reads across the web, pulls together what matters, and hands you the

## Deep research

For bigger questions, Fig can run **deep research** — it splits the work across
several helpers that look into different angles at the same time, then combines
everything into a single, well-organized answer that **cites its sources**. You get
the depth of a thorough review without the wait of doing it one step at a time.

This is great for questions like "compare the top five tools in my industry" or
"give me a briefing on this market" — where one quick search isn't enough.

# Scheduled tasks & automations

Fig can work for you even when you're not around. There are two kinds of
automation, and you can set up either one just by asking in chat.

## Scheduled tasks

A **scheduled task** runs at times you choose — daily, weekly, monthly, one-time,
or a custom schedule.

* "Every Friday at 4pm, summarize this week's team activity and email it to me."
* "Every Monday morning, refresh the specials section of my website."

## Proactive rules

A **proactive rule** runs when something happens, instead of at a set time. You
describe the trigger and what Fig should do.

* "Whenever I get an email from my biggest client, ping me on Slack."
* "When someone signs up on my waitlist, send them a welcome email."

## Setting one up

## Managing your automations

Open the **Scheduled** section to see all of your automations in one place — on
the web you'll see them laid out on a calendar. From there you can pause, edit,
or delete any of them, and review past runs.

## Refining your deck

Just keep chatting to make changes — "combine slides 3 and 4," "use warmer colors,"
"add a slide about shipping." Fig updates the deck and shows you the result.

## Exporting

When it's ready, export your deck however you need it:

* **PDF** — for sharing or printing
* **PowerPoint** — to keep editing in PowerPoint
* **Google Slides / Google Drive** — sent straight to your
  [connected](/integrations/google-drive) Google account

# Thinking modes

Choose how hard Fig thinks — Lite or Pro — to match the task.

Fig can put different levels of effort into your request. You can switch between
the two modes right inside the chat, depending on how simple or complex the task is.

## The two modes

  research, or anything where you want Fig's best result and don't mind waiting a
  little longer.

  a simple way to get more out of your plan.

# Video editor

Fig includes a full **video editor**, so you can take a video Fig made (or one you

* **Layer things on** — picture-in-picture, stickers, and text directly on the
  canvas.
* **Clean it up** — remove silent gaps automatically, and fill empty space with a

## Editing by description

You don't have to do it all by hand. Just tell Fig what you want — "cut the first
five seconds," "add captions," "speed up the middle section" — and it makes the
edit for you.

## Exporting

Export your finished video as an **MP4** to share anywhere. You can also export
**captions** as a separate file, or save a short clip as a **GIF**.

# Talking with Fig

Speak with Fig out loud — same conversation, no typing needed.

Sometimes it's easier to just say it. With Fig's **voice mode**, you can talk to
Fig out loud and hear it respond — hands-free, no typing.

## Starting a voice conversation

Tap the **voice button** next to the message box to start talking. Fig listens,
responds, and gets to work — just like a typed request.

## Choosing a voice

You can pick the voice Fig speaks with from your profile settings. Several voices
are included, with some additional voices as part of premium plans.

# Voice agents

Create AI agents that handle voice calls for you, and review every call afterward.

A **voice agent** is an AI agent that can hold a real **voice conversation** —
useful for things like answering questions, taking details, or walking someone
through a process out loud.

  This is different from [talking with Fig](/features/voice), which is you speaking
  to Fig yourself. A voice agent is an agent you set up to handle calls.
</Note>

## Creating a voice agent

Open the **Voice agents** section and create one. You give it a name, a voice, and
instructions for how it should handle a conversation — what it's there to do, what
to ask, and how to respond.

## During a call

While a call is happening, an **in-call view** shows you what's going on in real
time.

## After a call

Every call is saved, so you can:

* **Review call history** — revisit past conversations
* **Track usage** — see how much your voice agents have been used

  Give your agent clear, specific instructions — what to greet callers with, what
  information to collect, and when to wrap up. The clearer the brief, the better the
  call goes.

# Web browsing

Fig can visit web pages to get current information for your task.

Fig can **browse the web** as part of getting your work done. When a task needs
up-to-date information or details from a specific page, Fig goes and reads it —
then uses what it found.

* **A specific page** — give Fig a link and ask it to pull out what you need.
* **Background for a build** — research that feeds straight into a

## 4. Watch Fig work

## How usage works

**Chat with Fig as much as you want** — chatting on the standard model is

Usage applies when Fig *works* for you: running tasks, building websites and
apps, generating media like images and video, and taking calls. Every plan
includes a usage allowance for that kind of work — it refills automatically
(daily on Free, monthly on paid plans), and you can watch it on the usage bar
in **Usage & Billing**. Extended plans multiply the allowance (2×–5×) for
heavier workloads.

If you ever reach your limit, nothing is lost: you can keep chatting, and
heavier work resumes when your allowance refills — or upgrade for more.

## Search engine optimization

Turn on **Advanced SEO support** to help people find your site through search.
Fig handles the technical side for you — indexing your site, generating sitemaps,
pre-rendering pages, and tracking how your site performs in search. Advanced SEO is
part of [Fig Super](/plans-and-pricing).

## Hide the Fig badge

By default, published sites show a small "Made with Fig" badge. With
[Fig Super](/plans-and-pricing), you can **hide the Fig badge** so your site looks
fully your own.

## Version history

Every time your site is published, Fig keeps the previous version. If a change
doesn't work out, just say so in the chat — *"Actually, undo that — restore the
previous version"* — and Fig rolls your site back. It's a safety net: explore and
refine freely, knowing your earlier work is still there.

## Adding a domain

In the **Domains** tab you have two choices:

* **Buy a new domain** — search for the perfect web address (like `yourbusiness.com`)
  and buy it right inside Fig, then publish your site to it.

[Stripe](https://stripe.com) account. Sell a product, take a deposit, or collect a

You connect your Stripe account once, and from then on Fig can set up the payment

  live, Fig asks for your **approval** in the chat — nothing goes public until you
